life as it is seen from my heart and soul

stealthfulness on Saturday

on my walk last night i found piles of gold….. and browns, rusts, and some greens.  piles of leaves on the curbs and in the street waiting to be picked up by the city to be composted.  so i came home and asked my sam -‘if they are sitting in the tree lawn or on the street doesn’t that make them public domain??’ (very hopeful for a yes)   he thought for a moment and said… yes.  so under the cover of darkness we took the tarp, the gloves and the rake… and i got piles of gold for the garden.  AND then this morning i woke with the need for more.  i didn’t want to wake sam, so i took the tarp, my car, and the shovel!  the shovel worked so much better with dry leaves already shredded.  got another tarp full and spread them like the blanket of gold they are on my garden.
i want more.  i keep hearing how bone chilling cold it is going to be, how protected all the plants need to be.  is this like my anticipation of winter for myself?  the need to be inside, the pantry filled with good food, the shelves stocked…. because i need a blanket of Gold in Him.  that i might become a very small piece of Gold in the Kingdom.  that He will clean the dross and the blackness out and begin to shine.
be on the look out….. if you have leaves out for pick up they might disappear!  but you know where to find them.
