… but don’t get used to it!  my sam preached today.  he doesn’t get to preach that often ~ why don’t they let youth pastors preach very often?  are people afraid he will do crazy things while trying to enlighten them about their spiritual life?  or will he want loud and wild rap music playing for worship music before his sermon?  I don’t know, but he should preach more.
life here is not wild or crazy but too serious.  he and i are in a slump.  a really deep slump.  and it is about the fight for us, i get that.  i have alluded to losing friends, and the church being very mean sorted and withdrawing from so much.  it has affected our young adult children as well as us.
but today he preached about the importance of our story.  that each one of us has a story that is important to the Kingdom we belong to.   he reminded us that Christ spoke through stories (parables) telling about Himself, His Father, His choices and how it affects all of us.  our story to tell is about Him and how He weaves Himself into us to tell others about Him. he talked from the book of John and the stories Christ shared – the people He interacted with.  he spoke about the Matt Redman song, Blessed be the Name… referring to the name of the Lord ~ that in everything, blessed be the Name of the Lord.  the He gives and takes away as in the book of Job ~ but that we are to bless His Name forever.  no matter what.  i will be thinking on this for the week.

  1. Matt Redman’s book ”Blessed Be Your Name” is to be highly recommended if you haven’t read it.
Matt Redman is from my church in England 🙂
